Where AI is used

Navigate uses artificial intelligence in three places: the AI Career Coach, which answers career questions in plain language; Resume Tools, which reviews resume text you provide and suggests improvements; and Career Passport summaries, which help turn program records into readable summaries.

Which AI technology powers these features

All three features run through the Lovable AI gateway on Google Gemini models. Your requests are sent from Navigate's servers to the gateway; they are not sent directly from your browser.

What information is sent to the AI

AI Career Coach: the messages you type in the current chat, plus a summary of your program record — your pathway, skills, credentials, career-readiness score, and open roles in your program — so guidance is specific to you rather than generic.
Resume Tools: the resume text you paste, or the text extracted in your browser from a resume file you choose, along with the target role if you select one. Uploaded resume files are not stored.
Career Passport summaries: the relevant Career Passport entries needed to produce the summary.

What Navigate stores

Navigate does not save AI Career Coach conversations or the resume text sent for review. Once you leave or refresh the page, the conversation is gone. Your Career Passport entries themselves are stored as part of your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.

What the AI provider does with requests

Whether the Lovable AI gateway or Google Gemini retains requests, logs them, or uses them to train models is governed by their own terms and policies. We route requests through these providers so the service can work, but we do not independently verify or control their retention or training practices. If you have questions about provider practices, review the current terms published by Lovable and Google Gemini.

The limits of AI guidance

AI Career Coach is not a human counselor and does not replace guidance from program staff, career advisors, or other professionals.
AI-generated content can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Verify anything important before acting on it.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any resume you submit to an employer, including content suggested by Resume Tools.
Using these tools does not guarantee a job, interview, wage, promotion, or any career outcome.
